Rearing Field
All our pheasant and partridge poults are reared in a traditional system of 8ft x 8ft shed night shelters and grass runs. Stocking densities of each are kept low ensuring healthy well feathered poults. The rearing field is located on fresh ground each and every year which is crucial when rearing quality healthy birds.
Overwintering
Since the Farm was first established a closed flock of the very best birds selected from our own rearing fields each year has been maintained. They are over wintered in low density pens planted with game crops and a large woodland area providing the birds with feed and cover. Keeping a closed flock has enabled us to retain pure strains and disease free birds.
